Pine Retreat. A romantic getaway in the heritage town of Mussorie. Originally called Doon View, it was taken over in 1842 by an Englishman for an annual rent of Rs 11. Bought over by the YMCA in 1916 it became a favourite summer retreat for the British. The charm of the mansion lies in its architecture-simple,unobtrusive and elegant,much of which has been preserved. with its arches and winding corridors, the pristine white walls,clay tiles and solid-wood panels, Pine Retreat recreates the magic of Raj era, with a contemporary touch.
